What Is Machine Finished Wheels?

Machined Finish Wheels
A machined finish is applied by spinning the wheel on a Computer Numeric Control (CNC) lathe. The CNC machine creates a surface which has a high metallic shine. This process creates small grooves in the finish similar to a wax record ( or even like the surface of a CD for the younger crowd).

What are machined wheels?

Machined-face wheels can achieve something regular spray-painted wheels never could. The surface of the wheel is spun as a machine gently removes a thin layer from the surface of the wheel. This exposes a smooth, shiny and consistent metal surface.

Can machined wheels be repaired?

Machined wheels are very similar to polished wheels. They both have a protective clear coat. The process for restoring this type of wheel involves re-machining the face on a CNC Lathing Machine in order to restore it back to its original appearance.
