Nagato (長門, Nagato) was a shinobi of Amegakure and descendant of the Uzumaki clan. Forming Akatsuki alongside his friends (and fellow war orphans) Yahiko and Konan, Nagato dreamed of bringing peace to the violent shinobi world.

Is Nagato and Naruto related?

Nowhere does it state the descendant has to be a direct descendant, the Uzumaki Clan are cousins of the Senju clan and while they are related they are seperate clans. Naruto, Nagato and Karin are all from the Uzumaki clan which means they share a common ancestor with the Senju i.e. Ashura.
