A raffle is a gambling competition in which people obtain numbered tickets, each of which has the chance of winning a prize. At a set time, the winners are drawn at random from a container holding a copy of each number.

How does raffle work?

When someone buys a ticket, one is given to the customer and the other identical one is placed into a box or giant bowl. After all the raffle tickets have been purchased, the drawing is held. The person doing the drawing randomly pulls out a ticket. The person who has the matching ticket is the winner.
