What Is Rba in Goldengate

For a couple of weeks now, I’ve been trying to figure out a way to identify the size of data for transactions that are getting processed over a give period of time with Oracle GoldenGate. When I started to think through the process, I keyed in on the Relative Byte Address (RBA).

What is RBA in Oracle?

Redo Byte Address (RBA) An RBA points to a specific location in a particular redo thread. It. is ten bytes long and has three components: log sequence number, block number within log, and byte number within block.

What is the use of checkpoint table in GoldenGate?

Oracle GoldenGate extract and replicat processes perform checkpoint operations. In case of some unexpected failure happened, the checkpoint file or database table ensures extract and replicat processes restart’s from the point of failure and avoid re-capture and re-apply of transactions.
