Traditionally, the choroid has been assigned as its major functions, supply of oxygen and nutrients to the outer retina, light absorption (pigmented choroid), thermoregulation, and modulation of intraocular pressure.
What does the choroid do?
A thin layer of tissue that is part of the middle layer of the wall of the eye, between the sclera (white outer layer of the eye) and the retina (the inner layer of nerve tissue at the back of the eye). The choriod is filled with blood vessels that bring oxygen and nutrients to the eye.
What is retina What is its function?
The retina is an essential part of the eye that enables vision. It's a thin layer of tissue that covers approximately 65 percent of the back of the eye, near the optic nerve. Its job is to receive light from the lens, convert it to neural signals and transmit them to the brain for visual recognition.
