What Is Vanadium Diselenide?

Vanadium diselenide (VSe2) is a TMDC material. With a sandwiched layer structure, its layers are bound by weak van de Waals forces which allow the isolation of each layer from its bulk crystals (or powder) to reduce the dimensionality - by either mechanical or chemical exfoliation. In bulk form VSe2 is paramagnetic.

What is VSe2?

1T-VSe2 is a metal and a Charge density waves (CDW) system, having the incommensurate CDW state below 110K. The layers are stacked together via van der Waals interactions and can be exfoliated into thin 2D layers. 1T VSe2 belongs to the group-V transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDC).
