What Is White Tripe

BLEACHED TRIPE or white tripe refers to tripe that has been cleaned, bleached and/or scald for human consumption. Not only does it contain no nutritional value, it is also not safe for our dogs as it has already been bleached and cooked.

Why is some tripe white?

A “dressed” tripe is pale, almost white, and it has been soaked in a chlorine solution to remove impurities. The process is called bleaching. Most tripe sold in groceries has undergone bleaching. 1 Whether you have bleached or unbleached tripe, either way, tripe has to be rinsed and properly cleaned prior to cooking.

Can I feed my dog raw white tripe?

IS RAW TRIPE SAFE FOR DOGS? Yes, yes, yes. Even the bleached, white stuff is safe, it’s just not a nutritional powerhouse like raw green tripe is.
