What Removes Paint Well

Paint strippers are solvents that soften the old finish for easy removal. They’re available as a liquid, gel or paste and are effective at removing paint from wood on large projects, curved shapes and fine details. Using paint stripper on rounded surfaces and tight areas is often easier and more effective than sanding.

How do you remove dried paint?

Dish soap and a safety razor blade can remove even old, dried-on paint. Mix dish soap with warm water until sudsy, and thoroughly wet the window with a sponge or rag. Hold the razor blade at a 45-degree angle, and carefully scrape the paint away, keeping the glass damp to avoid scratches.

Will vinegar take paint off wood?

Vinegar does not remove paint from wood, but it can soften paint and make it easier to remove. It is a non-toxic, natural alternative to chemical paint strippers, but may take a little more time and effort to get all the paint off.
