What Should the Humidity Be for a Crested Gecko?

Water should always be available for crested geckos in a shallow water dish. These geckos also require a relative humidity of at least 50 percent and preferably 70 percent. In dry areas the tanks should be lightly misted nightly or a cool air humidifier placed in the room.

Can humidity be too high for Crested Gecko?

Crested geckos need a relative humidity of 70 to 80 percent in captivity. An average humidity that is higher than 80 percent will cause health problems in the long run. An average humidity that's lower than 50 percent will cause dehydration and shedding problems.

What temperature and humidity do crested geckos need?

A substrate which will hold the humidity, without going mouldy such as eco earth or plantation soil is ideal for Crested Geckos. Crested Geckos prefer cooler temperatures. During the day they prefer a temperature around 24C (75F). This can often be achieved with little or no additional heating at all.
