Use a fertilizer with high potassium at this time. Doing these things will force the clivia to bloom. Turn the pot slightly every day so that buds and blooms will be encouraged to grow evenly around the plant. Once the clivia is blooming again, go back to using a 20-20-20 fertilizer every two weeks.
When should you feed clivias?
A 6-6-6 nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium slow-release fertilizer will feed the plants for at least three months. Don't use fertilizer during the cold winter months because that's when the plant is resting. You can resume once your clivia produces its first flowers (usually in late winter or early spring).
How do you feed clivia plants?
Clivia fare best in dappled sunlight or early morning sun. Dark shade will limit the amount of flowers that your clivia produces. Feed clivia in spring and autumn with 3:1:5 slow release fertiliser. Clivia in pots should be fed once a month with a liquid fertiliser such as Seagro.
