When Do Creepers Spawn?

In Minecraft, you can find creepers in most Overworld biomes in light levels of 7 or less. Creepers will spawn in the dark, usually at night. Once a creeper has spawned in the dark, it can survive in the daylight. If you do not light your house, a creeper can spawn inside your house.

How do you get creepers to spawn?

Simply create a collection area for a Creeper farm that is small enough that the creepers will be within 4 blocks of the lightning strike. Then, wait for a thunderstorm and throw a channeling trident at one of the creepers. Note that the creepers must be exposed to the sky for the Channeling enchantment to work.

Why are creepers not spawning in my farm?

It does matter that the there are caves or any other areas (that mobs can spawn) vertically in the area of your farm. To get the creepers to spawn only in your farm, you will need to light the other accessible blocks where any mobs can spawn in a perimeter distance around your farm.
