Some moms can feel their baby move as early as 13-16 weeks from the start of their last period. These first fetal movements are called quickening and are often described as flutters. It may be difficult to determine whether this feeling is gas or your baby's movements, but soon you will begin to notice a pattern.
What is quickening during which stage does it occur?
Quickening is defined as the first movements of the fetus felt in utero. It occurs from the eighteenth to the twentieth week of pregnancy. Movements have been felt as early as the tenth week and in rare cases are not felt during the entire pregnancy.
What week of pregnancy do you feel the quickening?
You should feel your baby's first movements, called "quickening," between weeks 16 and 25 of your pregnancy. If this is your first pregnancy, you may not feel your baby move until closer to 25 weeks. By the second pregnancy, some women start to feel movements as early as 13 weeks.
