When Foxes Kill Chickens?

Identifying Fox Attacks
Sometimes the chickens will simply disappear without a trace. If you're home when a fox attacks, you may hear your chickens when the fox attacks. Foxes will scout their prey, hanging back under cover before running up and plucking a chicken. They will take the entire chicken with them.

Why do foxes kill chickens and leave them?

Firstly, foxes are territorial animals, and other foxes in the area will attack it; secondly, it will need to eat before too long and doesn't know where to find food in its new environment. The fox may find somebody else's chickens but will probably starve to death.

Do foxes eat chickens or just kill them?

The fox is the most feared chicken-killer. It is smart, sly and savvy, and it strikes when your guard is down. Unlike other predators, foxes leave little evidence of an attack, but they will just as cleanly pick off your chickens as any other predator.
