When Is Weakfish in Season?

Weakfish spawn from April through August. Chesapeke Bay is known as a main breeding ground for Weakfish as it so a lesser extent Barneget Bay. In most years, the first weakfish begin to show up in Barnegat bay around April 15.

Where can I find weakfish?

You can find its total range between northern Florida and Nova Scotia. The fish usually spawns along the beaches, in larger estuaries, and mouths of inlets. During the late fall through the winter, the adult weakfish usually migrate offshore to the warmer waters in the south.

Is there a size limit on weakfish?

WEAKFISH: No closed season, 1-fish bag limit, 16-inch minimum. WHITE PERCH: No closed season, 30-fish bag limit, 7-inch minimum.
