When to Plant Charlotte's?

We recommend that you start chitting / sprouting Charlotte potatoes in the third week of February. This will give them four to five weeks to develop healthy sprouts just at the time when they are ready to be planted out. Keep the potatoes in cool but light conditions to ensure they grow short, green sprouts.

How long does it take for Charlotte potatoes to grow?

These have a good, long shape with yellow flesh and skin. They are one of the very best all-rounder potatoes and ideal if you want to grow just one variety. Second Earlies are planted between March and May and harvested in July and August. These take just over four months from planting to first picking.

Is Charlotte a first early?

Charlotte is the classic salad potato that sets the standard for all other potatoes in this category. It matures as a late first early variety, towards the end of June, where you can lift a good amount of medium sized oval tubers with a very fine flavour.
