What REDIPRED is used for. REDIPRED is used in the treatment of many different conditions. Some of these conditions include: severe allergies, severe or chronic asthma, skin problems, arthritis, inflammatory diseases of the bowel, cancer and "auto-immune" diseases.

Is Redipred used for croup?

Often the most important treatment you can provide is to hold your child in your arms for comfort and reassurance. Steroids given orally lessen the stridor and lessen hospitalisation. In Australia the medication is called redipred and it's dosage is about 1mg per kg given daily for three days.

Should Redipred be taken with food?

Acute asthma requiring oral steroids: 2 mg/kg at once, up to a maximum of 40 mg. Thereafter dose at 2 mg/kg once daily up to a maximum of 40 mg per day, and for up to a total of five days. Redipred should be taken in the morning after food. No gradual decrease of the dose is required.
