When Virtual Image Is Formed?

Virtual images form when light rays from the same location on an object reflect off a mirror and diverge or spread apart. Real images form when light rays from the same location on an object reflect off a mirror and converge or come together.

How virtual image is formed?

A virtual image is formed when reflected rays appear to meet. Such images cannot be obtained on the screen. Plane mirrors, convex mirrors, and concave lenses always form virtual images.

When would virtual image produced?

When an object is placed between optical centre and focus of the convex lens, virtual image is produced by the lens. ii. Virtual image in case of lenses is formed on the opposite side of the screen. Hence, it cannot be drawn on the screen.
