Locals comment that people drive through Donnycarney without even noticing it. The Catholic Church, built in 1969, is approximately three miles North East of the city centre and is located at the junction of the Malahide Road and Collins Avenue. It is Donnycarney's most distinctive landmark.
When was donnycarney built?
"Old Donnycarney", built in 1931/1932 for tenant purchase, is a neighbourhood of a few hundred houses just to the left of the Malahide Road, at the junction with Collins Avenue. "New Donnycarney" consists of around 800 houses, built between 1947 and 1949, just to the right of the same junction.
Is donnycarney a good area?
Donnybrook is quite a nice area of Dublin (and no where near Killester). It has a lot of Public order issues becuase of Students and pubs.
