Sharp employs more than 50,000 people worldwide. The company was founded in September 1912 in Tokyo and takes its name from one of its founder’s first Ever-Sharp mechanical pencil, which was invented by Tokuji Hayakawa in 1915.
Why does Sharp still happen in the Army?
The Army’s Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention program, known as SHARP, exists so the Army can prevent sexual harassment and sexual assaults before they occur. Our goal is to eliminate sexual assaults and sexual harassment by creating a climate that respects the dignity of every member of the Army family.
Why is the Army Sharp program failing?
The lack of leadership and interest in the program led to personnel shortages, and brigades and battalions regularly failed to adequately staff their SHARP programs or meet other requirements.
