A C-section includes an abdominal incision and a uterine incision. The abdominal incision is made first. It's either a vertical incision between your navel and pubic hair (left) or, more commonly, a horizontal incision lower on your abdomen (right).
Do they cut you in the same spot for C-section?
The type of cut on your abdomen may not be the same as the one on your uterus. The incision on your abdomen will be either: Horizontal. A low-transverse incision (or a “bikini cut”) is used in 95 percent of C-sections today.
Where is the C-section line?
C-section scars are surprisingly small. Most baby's heads fit through a four- to six-inch skin incision made horizontally just below the pubic hairline. The abdominal muscles are moved aside (not cut through) and a horizontal incision is also made in the uterus.
