Where Is Easedale Tarn?

Easedale Tarn is a tarn in the centre of the English Lake District, about two miles west of the village of Grasmere. It lies in a hollow between Tarn Crag to the north and Blea Rigg to the south, about 910 feet or 280 metres above sea level.

How do I get to Easedale Tarn?

Easedale Road

Follow the road past a number of buildings. You will also pass the entrance to a footpath on your left signposted for Langdale. You will eventually come to a small turning on the left that leads directly onto a footbridge, signposted for Easedale Tarn. Take this turning and go over the bridge.

Can you walk around Easedale Tarn?

The walk from Grasmere to Easedale Tarn is a great trip out for even the littlest legs! A moderately easy ascent takes you through meadows and farmland before you head upwards, following the course of Sour Milk Gyhll, past the frothy white cascades of the waterfall and onwards until you reach the tarn.
