Where to Find Lenticel?

Lenticels are found as raised circular, oval, or elongated areas on stems and roots. In woody plants, lenticels commonly appear as rough, cork-like structures on young branches. Underneath them, porous tissue creates a number of large intercellular spaces between cells.

Where would you find a Lenticel?

6.3.

The lenticels found on the epidermis of different plant organs (stem, petiole, fruits) made up of parenchymatous cells are pores that always remain open, in contrast to stomata, which regulate their extent of opening. Lenticels are visible on fruit surfaces, such as mango, apple, and avocado.

Are lenticels present in all plants?

Lenticels are not always as obvious as they are on cherry trees, but they are present in the bark of woody plants in general. Openings called stomata on the undersides of leaves allow and control the movement of oxygen, carbon dioxide and water into and out of leaves for photosynthesis and respiration.
