Technics (テクニクス, Tekunikusu) is a Japanese brand name of the Panasonic Corporation for audio equipment. Since 1965 under the brand name, Panasonic has produced a variety of hi-fi products, such as turntables, amplifiers, receivers, tape decks, CD players and speakers for sale in various countries.
Where is Technics manufactured?
The Panasonic factory in Utsunomiya, Japan. Here, just 11 people manufacture Technics' high-end turntables and the ultra-high-end SU-R1/SE-R1 pre/power combination. The brand's other, less specialist (and more affordable) products are made in another factory based in Malaysia.
Are Audio Technica and Technics the same company?
Very familiar look. When you look at the Audio Technica turntables you would be forgiven for having to do a double take. Yes they do look eerily similar to the infamous Technics SL1200 turntables and there is a reason for this. Much of the Audio Technica turntables are put together in the same factories as the 1210's.
