Why Are Glossaries Important?

Glossaries can be useful for helping students identify and acquire the vocabulary of the discipline. Having students intuitively understand words from their use in readings or in class is often not the best solution since not all students have the skills required to learn vocabulary from limited exposure.

Why do we need a glossary?

A Glossary is a deliverable that documents terms that are unique to the business or technical domain. A glossary is used to ensure that all stakeholders (business and technical) understand what is meant by the terminology, acronyms, and phrases used inside an organization.

What is a glossary and why is it important?

The glossary provides a needed level of precision for the most important terms in your source material. Glossaries may include a list of not to be translated terms (NTBT). For example, product names are typically not translated.
