Why Do Mice Roll over?
If one of these two areas becomes abnormal the result is twisting, turning, falling, slumping to one side, rolling and spinning. It is very upsetting to watch. The most common reason for this to happen to any animal is infection, and the infection is most frequently found in the middle/inner ear complex.

Why is my rat rolling over?

The infection causes inflammation in the inner ear, affecting the rat's balance. This will cause the rat to hold his head tilted to one side. Without treatment, the loss of balance can get so bad the rat will roll over and over and is unable to eat.

Why do rodents spin in circles?

It is quite reasonable for mice to run in circles sometimes. They can do it out of boredom, or they may be doing it to attract some attention from their fellow companions in the cage. The problem is when they don't stop running for hours and hours.
