Y'shtola made her home in the Rak'Tika Greatwood, where she became the de facto leader of a small group of people who worship the dark. She took on the name Master Matoya to hide her real name during her time in Rak'Tika, and… that's pretty much the only reason why Urianger referred to her as such.
Why is Shtola called matoya?
As time flows differently in the First, three years passed for Y'shtola before the Warrior of Light arrived. During that time, Y'shtola joined a group of dark-worshipers known as the Night's Blessed and took the alias of "Matoya" as per their custom to never speak their true names aloud beneath the light.
