Why is protecting life on land important?

A flourishing life on land is the foundation for our life on this planet. We are all part of the planet's ecosystem and we have caused severe damage to it through deforestation, loss of natural habitats and land degradation. Promoting a sustainable use of our ecosystems and preserving biodiversity is not a cause.

What can we do to achieve SDG 15?

Measure, manage and mitigate impacts on ecosystems and natural resources. Scale up best practices for land use planning and management. Invest in natural infrastructure as a cost-competitive alternative to grey infrastructure. Finance the restoration of degraded land for production and/or conservation purposes.
