Why Producers Are More Than Consumers?

Because we lose energy each time we move up a trophic level, we have more producers than consumers, more herbivores than carnivores, more primary consumers than secondary consumers.

Why are there less consumers than producers?

There are different kinds of consumers but they all consume energy, like the primary consumer. It consumes the producers energy by eating it. Then the consumer later on eating that organism to get its energy. Consumers have less population or percentage of producers because they have less energy to reproduce off of.

Why is the number of producers larger than consumers in nature?

Answer: In nature it is always seen that number of producers is more than that of consumer. Because consumers needs more energy to perform its regualr metabolic reactions. ... now if the producers itself is less in number than how can the consumers may get fed properl.
