A tie is a stitch taken through all three layers of the quilt sandwich and knotted on the quilt top surface or, occasionally, on the back of the quilt.
What do you use to tie a quilt?
- Pearl Cotton Thread No. 8 (this can actually be as thick as you want. You could even use yarn, similar to how classic tied quilts are made. I used this kind of thread because it is what I prefer to use when hand quilting.)
- Embroidery Needle.
- Needle Threader (optional but awesome)
- Snips.
