Why Vogue Challenge Started?

The challenge was started by Oslo-based student Salma Noor earlier this month, after she tweeted an alternative cover featuring a shot of herself under the headline "Being black is not a crime." Noor posted the image just as anti-racism and Black Lives Matter protests began gaining momentum in the US and beyond.

Why did the Vogue challenge start?

It started in response to a letter Anna Wintour, the long standing editor in chief of Vogue, to employees admitting that the magazine had not given space to Black editors, writers, photographers, designer and other creatives.

What's the vogue Challenge about?

The Vogue Challenge, simply put, encourages participants to put themselves, or their work, on the cover of the magazine with a little help from Photoshop. ... The magazine-esque cover art inspired others to create their own powerful “cover stories” in support of BLM, and thus, the Vogue Challenge was born.
