Why We Use Demodulation?

Demodulation is extracting the original information-bearing signal from a carrier wave. A demodulator is an electronic circuit (or computer program in a software-defined radio) that is used to recover the information content from the modulated carrier wave.

Why do we need modulation and demodulation?

Modulation is very important step in the transmission of signal. Our message signal is generally a low frequency signal and path loss of signal is proportional to the square of the wavelength (and hence inversely proportional to the square of the frequency).

What is used for modulation and demodulation?

A modem is an equipment that performs both modulation and demodulation.
