Why Yogis Sleep Less?

That's the same with yogis — they have a Divine goal. The more they learn to rely on cosmic energy, the less food, and exercise they need. Thus, their sleep quota also starts to reduce since the body is not weighed down by fatigue or digestion. That said, don't go into yoga or meditation just to reduce your sleep.

Does yoga make you sleep less?

One of the effects of a yoga practice is the natural reduction in required hours of sleep. We just don't need as much, we get less fatigued and are faced with more hours in the day to use at will. Not requiring an abundance of hours of sleep and not being able to sleep are very different.

Why do I sleep less when I meditate?

There may be a learning curve.

The researchers found that reduced sleep is fairly common during times of intensive meditative practice, such as multi-day silent retreats. Sleeping less is often considered a sign of meditative skill and progress.
