Will Maggots Kill Worms

Now the good news is that Black soldier fly (short BSF’s) maggots don’t kill compost worms themselves but nevertheless their presence in a worm bin leads in most cases to the loss of all the worms that have been living happily in their bin for month or even years.

What do maggots eat?

Maggots eat waste, overripe fruit and vegetables, meat, other leftover food, fermented substances, decaying carcasses and sometimes plants too. For extreme cases, they will consume tissues of living human beings as well when an infestation is taking place.

What kills maggots instantly?

Boiling water. It’s free, it’s quick, it’s effective, and it kills maggots in an instant.
