A Parked Regeneration will stop if the key is turned to the off position, the truck is put into gear or the parking brake is released. The regeneration will take approximately 20-40 min. The regeneration is complete when the engine returns to low idle and the DPF lamp remains off.
Will parked regen stop on it's own?
Will parked regen stop on its own? A parked regen is controlled by your truck's computer system and only requires the correct conditions to be met. The process should last between 45 minutes to an hour and no longer. If your parked regen takes longer than this or isn't finishing, something is wrong.
How long should Regen last?
Just like most other operators that are using our tool for preventative maintenance, this would be the typical experience. Unfortunately, far too often it does not go quite as smoothly. First, as a general rule of thumb, a forced DPF regen should last approximately 45 minutes.
