Would Progesterone Delay Period?

Progesterone Support
Progesterone can delay your period, so a pregnancy test must be performed. If pregnancy occurs, the medications will continue until around the 10th week of pregnancy. If the pregnancy test is negative, the medication is stopped, and a period will occur in 2–7 days.

Why does progesterone delay your period?

During a menstrual cycle, the level of progesterone hormone falls which causes your womb lining to shed and your period to occur. If progesterone - or norethisterone - is taken throughout, the levels don't drop which prevents menstruation from taking place.

Will I get my period on progesterone?

It is first detected in the middle of the menstrual cycle when an egg is released (ovulation). Progesterone prepares the lining of the uterus (endometrium) to allow a fertilized egg (embryo) to stick or implant. If a pregnancy does not take place, progesterone levels will fall and you will have your period.
