The Heart House's Take
It is well known that energy drinks can cause adverse heart effects, not least of which are heart attacks.
How many energy drinks does it take to make your heart explode?
Guzzling just one energy drink is enough to cause heart problems — with the effects kicking in after just 90 minutes, experts have warned. Scientists found that drinking Red Bull and Monster could cause your blood vessels to narrow, which increases the risk of blockages that cause heart attacks and strokes.
Despite these increases, moderate and occasional intake of Red Bull is unlikely to cause serious heart problems in healthy adults. Still, excess intake — particularly in younger people — has been linked to abnormal heart rhythm, heart attack, and even death ( 11 , 12, 13 ).
