If I remember correctly, bricks are extremely porous. the only thing i would worry about is how abrasive they are to the fish if they were to run into them. so if you could get some smoother ones, that would be good.. Also, make sure none of your fish can get stuck in those holes!!
What materials are safe for aquariums?
