Fg Begins Teachers Recruitment for 'Build-a-Thon’ Initiative

The recruitment process for teachers has officially commenced for the ‘Build-A-Thon’ initiative introduced by the Federal Government. The Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy made the announcement recently.

This program, which was initiated in December, aims to encourage the early adoption of technology among senior secondary students. According to Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, the program will span over four days in January 2024, and is projected to involve 1,500 students from 150 schools in Owerri, Maiduguri, and Abeokuta.

Prospective teachers are encouraged to apply for the positions, with the ministry emphasizing the need for visionary educators, teachers, and enthusiasts who can effectively mentor the next generation of tech innovators in secondary schools. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications on the program’s website.

Minister Tijani expressed his thoughts on the program, stating, “The Build-A-Thon initiative is part of our strategic plan to promote early-technology adoption to shape tomorrow’s innovation leaders.” He highlighted the program’s objectives, including showcasing innovative projects, recognizing achievements, fostering future collaboration, inspiring future leaders, and promoting lifelong learning.
