Has Electricity Prices Gone up?

It is projected that the residential electricity price in the United States will increase by 1.3 percent between 2021 and 2022. Generally, retail electricity prices in the country have risen over the last decade.

Are electricity prices going up in 2021?

Yes. Our NSW standard retailer feed-in tariff rate changed from 7.0c/kWh to 5.0c/kWh (GST inclusive, if any) on 1 July 2021. The change in the feed-in tariff is in line with the reduction in wholesale electricity prices.

Is electricity getting more expensive?

Utility residential electricity prices have risen steadily in the last decade. According to the Energy Information Administration, residential electricity rates have increased nationally by around 15% in the last 10 years (an increase of a little more than 0.2ยข/year).
