William Bret Baier was born on 4 August 1970 to parents Bill Baier and Pat Baier. He resided in New Jersey until the age of 10 before his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia.
Standing at the height of 5 feet 10 inches (1.80 meters), he
attended Marist High School. Then, he went to DePauw University from where he
graduated with a BA degree in political science and English at the age of 22.
Bret started his television career with a local station in
Rockford, Illinois. Later, he joined WRAL-TV, then CBS now NBC affiliate and
gained journalism experience. Before joining Fox News, he worked for WREX-TV
(NBC 13) and WJWJ-TV (PBS 2).
