After stunning global fans with unusual plot lines, Vinland Saga is returning for the second season next year.

Vinland Saga has become one of the greatest anime in recent years for its stunning visuals and plot. Even if fans praise the layered characters of the story, the anime also focuses on the landscapes. It indicates that every new land has a story to tell with its stunning beauty, which has been reflected in the anime.

The series focuses on a five years old boy Thorfinn and his journey of getting revenge for his father’s death. In the first season, the boy witnessed his father’s death at the hands of Askeladd and his men. Since then, he started following Askeladd to get his payback.

Season 1 entirely focused on that journey. But in the end, Canute ends up killing Askeladd. Askeladd’s murder was the moment when Thorfinn lost all the reasons for the path of getting revenge. As he failed his only goal that day, he attacked Canute. In the end, Thorfinn was enslaved for attacking Canute as punishment.

As the season 2 trailer suggests, Thorfinn will spend a large amount of time exploring his past while working with Askeladd. The first few episodes will primarily focus on Thorfinn’s new life as an enslaved person working under a landowner, Ketil. Our protagonist will meet his fellow slave, Einar. Both of them are purchased by Ketil to cultivate the fields and harvest the crops.

The trailer also gave a glimpse of Canute becoming more ambitious and corrupt. Canute, who had become the King of England, attempted to extend his territory. He is seen laughing at the end over a huge pile of gold.

Thorfinn’s great uncle Thorkell has also appeared in the trailer with some new faces about to come to season 2. But one thing is coming for sure that is a lot of action with heartwarming and saddening moments.
