Should You Pop Canker Sores?

You cannot pop a canker sore. They are shallow wounds, not pimples or blisters. It would be very painful to try and pop a canker sore.

Do canker sores burst?

Your mouth might tingle or burn before a canker sore appears. Soon, a small red bump rises. Then after a day or so it bursts, leaving an open, shallow white or yellowish wound with a red border. The sores are often painful and can be up to half an inch across, although most of them are much smaller.

Do canker sores have pus in them?

You may also see white patches or pus in your mouth. You'll know you have a canker sore if you see a red ring around a white or yellow center. They tend to be small — less than 1 millimeter — but may be up to 1 inch in diameter.
