Syntax

STRCOMP( <stringValue1>, <stringValue2>, <integerCaseSensitive> )

Description

Returns a value that is the result of the comparison of two string arguments.

Argument

Description

<stringValue1>

First string value to compare.

<stringValue2>

Second string value to compare.

<integerCaseSensitive>

Integer indicating whether the string comparison should be case sensitive. <integerCaseSensitive> must be 0 or 1.

0 = String comparison is case sensitive.
1 = String comparison is not case sensitive.

Returns

Integer

If <stringValue1> is less than <stringValue2>, -1 is returned. If <stringValue1> is equal to <stringValue2>, 0 is returned. If <stringValue1> is greater than <stringValue2>, 1 is returned.

Example

This example compares the two strings in the source fields, Source.Table1.Last_Name and Source.Table1.Mid_Name in non-case sensitive mode.
